Tutorial: How to Make a Paper Star

Hi there! I've been pretty excited to bring you my first tutorial on this blog! Let's get started!...

*Supplies

*Star paper, or thin scrapbook paper 7/16" (There are some links to where you can buy this below)

That's all! Pretty easy right?

First, you need your star paper. I can't remember where I got mine, but here are a few links to where you can get some!

1. Tie a knot near the end. Fold the excess over as shown.

2. This part is a little tricky to explain. You fold over the strip, following the shape as you go. Below is an example of how NOT to do it.

This is how you should do it! Just follow the pentagon shape and make sure everything is lying flat.

3. Keep on going until you have about 1" left. Fold this under a vertical fold, like above. Tear off the extra.
4. Using your fingernails, squish the star into shape. I like to start at the right side, but you can begin anywhere!

5. Done! You can make lots more and put them in a pretty glass vase, or make them into earrings!

Yaaawwwn...

Today I'm leaving the wonderful New York City, and heading for home! I'm a little tired, since I went to bed at 1 AM yesterday, but oh well, I can sleep on the plane!

Getting Sleepy Print - Digital Download

I'm pretty excited since once I get home, I can start blogging more, and maybe get up a few tutorials! I'm thinking about maybe a photo-manipulation, drawing manga, or origami tut.

Please let me know if there's anything you would like to see!

See ya,

Semalina

UPDATE: Our plane has just been delayed for an hour, so I'll still be on for a while longer! I was just looking back at posts I wrote from a few years back, and I see a huge change! Frankly, I find them a little embarrassing, but I think I'll keep them up, just for fun >.< It's weird, sometimes I don't feel like blogging, and I can't drag myself to the computer, but other times I feel like I wanna write on and on! Do you ever have that feeling?

I'm Baaaaack!

I'm back from my "blogging vacation"! Anyone miss me? :)
How was everyone's Halloween? I was an ear-less tail-less black cat since *no one* at CVS or Walgreens knew what pipe cleaners were! I asked for them, and the clerk led me to the household aisle and showed me the different types of cleaners! *shakes head*

A few updates:

I'm now selling on Etsy as SemalinaDesigns! Feel free to take a look around and tell me what you think! I'm working on a banner and maybe a logo or something for it soon, so ideas are definitely welcome!
My little "photographer's studio":

My collection of props ^^.

It was really just a white sheet draped on a chair in front of the window. The light was amazing and perfect, at least until about 2 PM, when the clouds cleared and it became too bright. =3=
Ah well, at least I got some good pictures!
A few of the photos I took:

Images belong to me.

I've started photo-manipulation and I love it! Recently got a Wacom Bamboo Tablet, and am on my way to getting better! My deviantArt account is C00kie-M0nstr.deviantart.com (All the Os are actually zeroes!)

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies!

If any of you know me personally, you would know that I am absolutely addicted to mint! So I found the recipe to make Mint Chocolate Chip cookies!

Here is how [via]:

They were delicous! And so easy to make!

WRITE THIS DOWN (because I know you'll want to make these):

1 pouch Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
1/2 c. butter
1/4-1/2 tsp. mint extract (I used a whole teaspoon; taste test to see what you prefer)
6-8 drops green food coloring (you can add more to make them green-er)
1 egg
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Combine cookie mix, butter, extract, food coloring and egg until soft dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips.
2. Drop 2 inches apart on ungreased sheet
3. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes
4. Don't eat all of them because people have to taste your delicious masterpiece. Or do.

Here is the link for where I got them: Recipe for Mint Chocolate Chip.

Have fun baking!
